Identity verification

Every user on Tallinn Gear Rental is verified through the Estonian eID system (ID-kaart or Mobile-ID). This means every account belongs to a real, identifiable person. We do not allow anonymous listings or rentals.

Deposit protection

Rental deposits are held securely by the platform for the duration of each booking. Funds are never sent directly to the owner during the rental period. After the item is returned in agreed condition, the deposit is released back to the renter within 2 business days.

Insurance coverage

All rentals include basic coverage against accidental damage up to the deposit value. For high-value items (over €500/day), owners can opt into our extended protection plan which covers theft and loss during the rental period.

Reporting problems

If something goes wrong during a rental, you can file a report from your booking page within 24 hours of the return time. Our support team reviews all reports and responds within 24 hours. In urgent cases, reach us directly at tugi@tallinnrentals.ee.

Tips for safe handovers

• Meet in a public or well-lit location when possible.
• Inspect the item together at pickup and note any pre-existing wear.
• Take timestamped photos of the item before and after the rental.
• Keep all communication on the platform so there's a clear record.
• If something feels off, trust your instincts — you can cancel a booking before pickup without penalty (24 h+ in advance).
